When did you trust Christ?

I was born in a Christian family, so I had godly parents. But I was not sure about my salvation. Once when I was about 8-years-old and I was at home, my mom went to the neighbors next door, but I did not know. I concluded that Jesus took the church away, but left me alone. I was broken and cried a lot. So I began asking myself why I was not sure about my salvation. In 1998, when I was at a Christian youth camp, I began to understand that I personally needed to have a relationship with the Lord. When I came home from the camp I prayed to Jesus and asked Him to become the Lord of my life.

What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?

In our yard my mom led Sunday school for children from non-believing families. There were some people from church who helped, and also my mom asked me from a very young age to help. First it was small jobs like to making copies, preparing some crafts, and helping to clean up our apartment. But later she let me help teach. And so finally I became the leader of this Sunday school. At that time I did not realize it, but God was preparing me or my present ministry, to lead children’s ministry in my church.

Why do you want to attend the Forum?

In my ministry I often feel the lack of leaders. I think that it is very important to grow leaders, but I do not have any experience in making new disciples. I believe the Forum’s Disciple-Making Leaders Network will help me to understand the applications and methods of discipleship, and to see every stage in the discipleship process.
What is your ministry?

I am director of children’s ministry in my church, so I am responsible for the spiritual formation of the kids. We organize a summer camp for children, Sunday school for kids, special programs for non-believing kids, and programs for children from refugee families. I also work with the leaders from the Sunday school and camps to prepare them. In 2017 our church started a Christian school and I was chosen to be principal of this school.
What are your past leadership roles?

Besides the Sunday school we held at our apartment, I have help with children’s camps and have led small groups.
Why should someone invest in your ministry?

As a leader and a teacher I understand that to be good a good servant I must study, look for new ideas, and grow spiritually. I see how God is using me to influence the children and the youth that I am working with. It is a big blessing for me that God can use me so that more and more children get to know Him.
