What is your ministry?
I lead a small group of teen girls in which we study the Bible in addition to eating a meal together and doing various activities to promote Christian fellowship and discipleship among them. I also mentor young women our organization comes in contact with, including a young lady who is currently living with me. In addition, I am actively involved with the youth at our local church and serve to mentor them throughout the course of our regular activities. I have a passion for women, especially young women, and would love to see these ministries continue to grow. I am currently working together with one of my coworkers to start a healing group for women, with a pilot group hopefully beginning to meet later this year.
What do you hope to gain from participating?
I would like to grow in how I take the information that I know and present it in a way that is interesting to the people I am teaching and so they are able to see how it applies to them. I wish to improve my understanding of the Romanian cultural context in which I work so that I am better equipped to reach the people around me. In particular, I would like to learn to overcome my American directness in the way that I speak with Romanians in order to promote better relationships, especially with those I am mentoring.
What is your leadership role?
I currently work as a mentor with the Regen Foundation in Fagaras, Romania.
