What is your ministry?

I am currently employed as Public Affairs Manager at CARE (Christian Action Research & Education). I started working for CARE as a very junior member of the team and have worked my way up over the past nine years. I also serve as a worship leader and coordinator at my church. Finally, I have had the privilege to lead Small Group Bible Studies over a number of years, and also served as a leader on various Christian youth camps through the Boys Brigade.

What do you hope to gain from participating?

I am increasingly convicted that Christians, particularly, must lead and manage well in order to steward not only their gifts, but also those of the people for whom they have responsibility. I would like to obtain some perspective and input in managing employees. It is also crucial that I develop good habits of effective use of time and efficiency.

What is your leadership role?

I have direct line management responsibility for four members of staff as well as other managerial and leadership responsibilities within the organisation, including coordination strategy with other managers from teams within the organisation, which employs approximately thirty people. Some of my responsibilities include: managing the performance of the Public Affairs team, ensuring smooth workflows and effective delivery of products required in the public square, regular liaising with the Head of Public Affairs to discuss strategy, engagement with other CARE departments, and maintenance of intelligence to ensure effective engagement with supporters and CARE staff.
