Christian Ministry – Other
Youth Ministry Leaders
Children and/or Youth
Dominik Svitel is a youth leader in Slovakia.
When did you trust Christ?
I grew up in an orphanage beginning at age four. From age eight to fifteen I attended the Catholic church on Sundays. A group from the Mission to the World organization visited our orphanage and would spend time with us and invited us to their church. I have always been interested in God and really enjoyed hearing the Gospel clearly and boldly. Becoming a believer was more of a process for me and not a one-day event. It all happened between my 15th and 18th year.
What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?
Every year I look back and see God at work in me and my growing dependence on Him. One strong defining moment was the first time I preached. It is still a blessed moment. I have mentored a couple of men throughout the years and I’m very thankful I had an opportunity to influence their lives. During the summer we organize camps and see God’s work. I am inspired to see teenagers moved by the word and Spirit. Two teenagers became believers through my sharing the Gospel with them. And, last but not least, I enjoy seeing how God is taking care of my ministry. I have been with CRU for six years and I love to focus all my time for Gods’ kingdom.
Why do you want to attend the Forum?
I hope to be inspired by what I hear and learn and by meeting new people. Hopefully I can make some connections to partner with other churches and organizations.
What is your ministry?
I am from Trnava, Slovakia, and I work for an organization called Athletes in Action. We develop sports potential in kids and teenagers in order to build platforms to share the Gospel.
What are your past leadership roles?
I have had a few leadership roles. I am currently part of a strategic team for the vision of our church and lead youth ministry for teenagers. Also, I am co-leading our home group. In the past I have organized camps and mission trips to other countries.
Why should someone invest in your ministry?
I would like to gain as much as possible and take all the good opportunities for spiritual and ministry growth back to those I serve in my country.
