When did you trust Christ?

I grew up in Christian home and attended church as a child. People around me in church thought that I was a good boy, but the real me was not so good. At the age 19 when I went to university I discovered the real me: I was a sinner and needed a savior. I came to discover this while attending youth meetings in the church. We were encouraged to read the Bible over the course of an entire year. I started to read a chapter each day from the book of Genesis and another chapter from the book of Matthew. I started to learn God’s standards as revealed in the Law of Moses. I realized that I was a sinner who would perish because I had broken many of God’s rules. When I reached Romans I found that I am justified through faith in Jesus. At this point I went on my knees giving thanks to Jesus who saved me so that I would not perish and I started to have relationship with Him from that very day. At this time, I was studying Computer Engineering in the university and I was praying that God would use my academic studies so that I could do something related to His ministry. After graduation God answered my prayer; I got an opportunity to work in the Bible Society of Egypt as a software development engineer. It was God’s Word in the Bible that changed me. I am changing every day and now I work every day to help spread God’s word in Egypt and the Middle East.

What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?

After I became a true Christian I started to regularly attend Bible study meetings and conferences in the Brethren Church. Through these things I met with great Christian leaders who helped me grow in my spiritual life. God has also helped me to pass through hard times that have helped me to grow in His knowledge.

Why do you want to attend the Forum?

The Forum will help me to be a more effective leader among the people who I serve and minister to. It will help me to leverage my work with the Bible Society of Egypt for the Gospel.
What is your ministry?

As I mentioned previously, I am a software developer for the Bible Society of Egypt. Besides my role in full time ministry, I am active in my local church as a youth worship leader. God uses me among the youth to help them to grow closer to Him. I also like to build close personal relationships with the youth to whom I minister and give spiritual counsel to them.
What are your past leadership roles?

I have served the Lord for the last five years as a worship leader and youth minister.

Why should someone invest in your ministry?

I am 30-years-old and I minister to youth very near to my age. I believe that youth need someone who is close to their age so that he can understand their needs, particularly in Egypt and the Middle East these days.
