Christian Ministry- Evangelism
Marco Demo is a vice-director of the Italian branch of the Bible Society of Geneva.
When did you trust Christ?
I grew up in a Christian family, gave my life to Christ when I was a small child, and recommitted my life to Christ as a teenager.
What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?
As a teenager in summer camp I realized I wanted a life committed to the Lord. My three years in Bible college also had an important impact on my life and ministry.
Why do you want to attend the Forum?
The European Leadership Forum will give me a bigger picture of what God is doing around the world, and tools to use in my ministry with refugees. As a manager of the Bible Society, it will give me the opportunity to share my Christian ministry experience and build relationships with other Christian workers around the world.
What is your ministry?
Since 2006, I am vice-director of the Italian branch of the Bible Society of Geneva. I am also responsible for a team of four people in the sales and logistic department. In addition, my wife and I have been working in a ministry for refugees since 2017. We have been serving about 30 people from Pakistan, Somalia, and West Africa, who are mainly Muslims.
What are your past leadership roles?
I was a youth pastor for 16 years organizing summer camps and serving in my local church.
Why should someone invest in your ministry?
Italy is a very secular country where the Church is small, divided, and lacking vision. Many people know the Bible, but they don’t have a personal relationship with Jesus (and don’t even know that they can). Also, there is a great opportunity to present the love of Christ to the many immigrants from Asia and Africa who would have been difficult to reach otherwise. I feel a strong passion for the lost and the Forum will help me expand ways to reach the lost.
