What is your ministry?

I am involved in many aspects of ministry in my church: I am a member of the Church Council (Board), small groups, one-one-one discipleship, women’s ministry, pastoral care for women, leading or supporting prayer meetings, leading a support group for women and offering support to the Sunday School and Children’s Club coordinators among others.

What do you hope to gain from participating?

I believe that mentoring is one of the basic methods of how we grow in ministry – and this conviction gave me the desire to join this program. I hope to learn how to recognize when a person is ready to start a discipleship group and how to support them. It will also be great to find out there are any issues in discipleship that I have not thought about or encountered yet– I am just excited to listen to experienced leaders. Certainly, I hope to meet people who are willing to share their experiences and be an inspiration for further work. I hope to meet people who would pray for our church and turn out to be the manifestation of God’s love and grace for our community, and me personally.

What is your ministry?

I have served in the Church Council for nearly 3 years. I have been responsible for the following areas: community integration (organising recreational/educational events, like trips, conferences, picnics), care for the new-believers (leading post-baptism discipleship workshops, based on my original materials) and women’s ministry (monthly larger meetings and weekly support group). After the unexpected pastor’s resignation one year ago, the range of my responsibilities grew. Recently, as part of the Church Council, I have been working on a document “Vision of the Church Development,” with the central idea of intensive development of leaders and of the discipleship relations’ network.
