What is your ministry?
I am a pastor of a church plant in the town which houses the Catholic University of Louvain. I also teach part-time at the Institut Biblique Belge. Our church plant is in a vibrant Catholic town where 500 people attend mass on a Sunday (rare in Belgium), and 150 of the students attend the student mass mid-week. Most of the Roman Catholics here, including priests, are very welcoming of us as Protestants and it is sometimes hard for them to accept that there are any differences between us.
What do you hope to gain from participating?
I would love to deepen my understanding of Roman Catholicism given the context of our church plant. I anticipate that it will greatly help me personally as an evangelist and also as a pastor as I train staff and church members in how to rightly relate to Roman Catholics. It will also sharpen my teaching at Bible College as I seek to train others for Gospel-ministry.
What is your leadership role?
I am leading a church plant in the University town of Louvain-la-Neuve. I also teach part-time (1 afternoon a week) at the Institut Biblique Belge where I teach Exegesis, Romans and the Theology of the Reformation.
