When did you trust Christ?

I grew up in a Christian family. I made my decision to follow Jesus when I was 17-years-old after realizing that I was lost and that I owe my life to my Redeemer. While I was attending secondary school I read the Bible, but my heart was half in the world. However, after watching the lives of some servants of the Lord, I realized that Christianity is not only about knowledge, but also about a real connection to the Lord, and that to establish and uphold the relationship I needed to accept the grace of God because I was lost.

What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?

When I was 17, I came into contact with a missionary organization. By watching the lives of missionaries, I realized that what I needed was to give my life to my Savior wholly.

There are two writers who have also had great impact on my faith. The books of Lawrence Crab have showed me the significance of relationships, especially my relationship with God, as well as how sinful human nature truly is. Through the books of C. S. Lewis, I have gained a deeper insight of the human soul and the work of God. Other very important moments of my Christian life have been when God taught me to rely solely on Him, for example when my wife and I both lost our jobs at the same time.

Why do you want to attend the Forum?

I benefited so much from the last Forum that I think it will improve my work for God if I attend again. The Forum is an excellent opportunity to develop relationship between evangelical leaders. It concentrates spirit, knowledge, enthusiasm, experience, and ideas. I can use many things I have learned at the Forum in preaching and teaching.
What is your ministry?

I am the director of the Hungarian Evangelical Publisher and Literature Mission. It is a nonprofit organization for publishing. We publish 20-25 books per year. I am also the editor of our evangelical magazine and I write articles. I am an elder of the local Brethren church in Eger. It is a small church. I do preaching and teaching. We put a lot of effort into reaching lost people in our city. Evangelical believers are less than 1% in Hungary.
What are your past leadership roles?

I was a leader of a Hungarian youth mission. It is a mission organizing youth camps mainly for teenagers from both Christian and non-Christian backgrounds. I was a member of the leadership team, but because of a lack of time I now participate on a smaller scale. I was a member of the leadership team of the Hungarian Fellowship of Evangelical Students.
Why should someone invest in your ministry?

I could widely utilize the training and networking possibilities that the Forum provides in my service, especially in evangelical book and magazine publishing. The publisher and mission I work for needs external support and sponsorship to uphold the operation. It is not capable of subsidizing my participation in the Forum. I work in several aspects of Christian service, but my financial position is far too small to invest in such a profitable opportunity as the Forum.
