Christian Ministry—Christian Organization
Education and/or Training
Sara Kominek is an EXIT Tour Director for Josiah Venture.
When did you trust Christ?
I grew up in a Christian home and made the decision to invite Jesus into my heart as a seven-year-old. However, when I was 14, I made a choice that Christianity was not only our family’s faith, but my faith. I have been following Jesus ever since.
What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?
When I was 16, our church was missing a youth leader and together with two friends my age, we stepped up and became the leaders. Then Josiah Venture missionaries from the United States started attending our church. They opened their home to the youth and mentored us, showing us what true discipleship is about. At the age of 24 I decided to take a bold step; I followed God’s calling and left my career to become a full-time missionary in my own country.
Why do you want to attend the Forum?
My local church does not invest much into me. I hope that during the Forum I will be trained and stretched. I also would love the opportunity to meet people with similar passions. I want to share about what I have been learning, learn from the experiences of others, and renew my heart where it needs it.
What is your ministry?
I am a team leader whose goal is to enable Polish churches to reach out to public schools with high-quality prevention programs based on Christian values. Our lectures to students cover topics like addiction, self-worth, bullying, Internet pornography, and depression. We have a Christian rock/rap band that performs short gigs. Throughout the week we visit several schools and local churches to organize afternoon youth clubs. At the end of the week the band plays a concert where we share the Gospel and hand out Bibles. Each school year we do six weeks of EXIT Tours, reaching 5,000-6,000 teenagers.
What are your past leadership roles?
For the last five years I have been a country director for EXIT, our ministry within Josiah Venture. I oversee a team of three people and 20+ volunteers from different countries and denominations.
Why should someone invest in your ministry?
I was once myself a young youth leader mentored by American missionaries and that made a huge difference for me. Now I want to be that person for the youth leaders I work with as a Josiah Venture missionary. I want to grow in order to invest in them. I have been blessed and want to be a blessing to others.
