Leaders of Christian Organizations
Education and/or Training
Sladjan Milenkovic directs the HUB Belgrade Bible School in Serbia.
When did you trust Christ?
I was born in a nominal Orthodox family, but ever since I was a young boy I was searching for God. Many things were happening in my life and I was desperately trying to find Him. When I was 18, one of my colleagues gave me a small New Testament and I started to read it. God spoke to me so powerfully through His Word and He started changing my life while I was reading. I gave up my sinful way of life and I gave my life to Jesus before I met any believers or a church group. Later I joined a Baptist Church where I was baptized in 2000.
What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?
I have met some very good people who have encouraged me to grow in my faith. I have read a lot of books by Christian writers and that has helped me to grow as well. I also attended a Bible school, which taught me a lot about scripture.
Why do you want to attend the Forum?
The European Leadership Forum has allowed me to make contacts among good speakers and teachers that we will be able to invite to our Bible school in Serbia to teach. I have personally been very much encouraged and refreshed by my time there. On the field, all the time, I play a role of giver, but as human beings and people who are weak and struggle, we need to be filled up. The Forum for me is the place for that.
What is your ministry?
I am the president of Christian Trust Belgrade. Through that organization we run the HUB Bible school, camp and conference center, helping many churches in our region. We are involved in church planting, discipleship, and raising and equipping many leaders. We run a public coffee shop where we want to be more visible and approachable as Christians to our local community. Our desire is to spread this ministry across Serbia and the Balkans. We are publishing Christian books in Serbian. We are serving people with disabilities, and organizing camps and events where families with disabilities can rest and hear the Gospel.
What are your past leadership roles?
In addition to my ministry at the Bible school, I also preach and lead different seminars and meetings.
Why should someone invest in your ministry?
There are 300 people who have graduated from our school in the past 15 years. Many of them have gone on to become involved in church ministries, church planting, and to lead Christian organizations. We have an excellent training program for mission workers. We have great facilities and nearly 50 teachers who come regularly from all around the world. We can see how the ministry of the HUB Belgrade Bible School in Serbia has made a big impact for God’s work in our region. Our students come from all of the former Yugoslavian countries, and from different evangelical denominations. It is a unique place. Investing in me would mean investing in the school and in all the students and teachers who are there.
