Christian Ministry – Pastoring & Church Planting
Steponas Davidavicius is a youth camp leader and Bible teacher.
When did you trust Christ?
As long as I can remember, I have believed that there is a God. I grew up in a Christian home, and at age 13, at a Christian camp, I decided to get baptized and follow Christ. When I think about this decision now, I don’t think I fully understood what I was doing then. As time went by and I struggled to follow Christ, I always affirmed that decision and continued to seek Him and stay faithful.
What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?
The most impactful experiences happened in summer camps, where my parents served as leaders. I just followed in their footsteps until my teenage years. Summer camps have been important because they always inspired me to believe. I think I really grew in faith after my marriage because I always struggled with lust. After being married for a year-and-a-half, I could freely and easily seek Christ, and it was awesome. In recent years I led a weekly Bible study and became one of the main leaders in the summer camps. This responsibility helped me to lean on the Bible daily and explore it more deeply.
Why do you want to attend the Forum?
I hope to be encouraged and equipped to do to a better job in ministry. I believe mentoring and building relationships with other youth leaders will help me be more effective in helping others grow spiritually, and it will give me practical ways to do so. I hope to develop clarity of vision that will move me forward in ministry.
What is your ministry?
My ministry responsibilities are leading a Bible study every week for teenagers, organizing and serving at a church summer camp, and also organizing a Gospel-centered camp for nonbelieving teenagers. This year I will start doing outreach to our local community by starting clubs with games and fun activities.
What are your past leadership roles?
I was camp leader for 5-6 years. I led a Bible study for three years.
Why should someone invest in your ministry?
I hope to build a life-long ministry to reach the youth of the world. Being part of the European Leadership Forum and receiving mentoring will help me to become more effective as an evangelical youth leader.
