Titus Pastean is one of the pastors of a Baptist Church in Timisoara.

When did you trust Christ?

I grew up in a committed Christian family. My father was a Baptist minister. In 1987, as I was graduating from the 8th grade, I was going through some rough times and I started asking questions about God. One day after having read my Bible and having listened to sermons, one sermon spoke to me personally and I made the decision to follow Jesus right then.

What have been the defining moments of your Christian walk?

One important moment was when I left to go to Baptist Theological Seminary in Bucharest, about 400 miles from home. I went to study to be a pastor and that strengthened my relationship with Christ—assuring me that it was okay to be alone as long as I was following God’s plan. A painful moment was my parents’ divorce when I was 20. A significant moment was entering the ministry in 1996. I became assistant pastor of Golgotha Baptist Church in Arad.

Why do you want to attend the Forum?

Attending the European Leadership Forum is a great blessing. It has enlarged and enriched my perspective on ministry as a result of the interaction with a broad group of leaders from other countries and cultures. This has helped me raise the number of people (disciples and leaders) in which I invest, the quality of my messages and talks, the capacity to face change and to make changes, and my ability to organize my work to understand and improve my leadership. Because of the Forum, I have been able to gain resources that I could find nowhere else!
What is your ministry?

I am one of the pastors of a Baptist Church in Timisoara (Vox Domini), a church focused on university ministry. I am also a co-founder and member of an interdenominational Romanian Christian organization called BIG-Impact, a movement of churches with global impact. I also teach in a non-formal program called ATS (Advanced Theological Studies), a program in partnership with Dallas Theological Seminary.
What are your past leadership roles?

In 2001, I became the youth pastor at Maranatha Baptist Church, where I served until 2004. I subsequently became youth minister at Vox Domini.

Why should someone invest in your ministry?

By investing in me, you will also be investing in many leaders in Romania. Together, we can change Romania for Christ.
