What is your ministry?
I am one of the pastors at Biserica Emanuel Church in Galati, Romania. I preach on Sunday mornings and lead a Bible study on Wednesday nights. Our church has a program for training leaders in our region where we teach inductive Bible study methods. At the national level, I am involved in a program for equipping pastors. Teaching the Bible in small groups is very important and we believe this is an essential part of the discipleship process. Working with Josiah Venture, my role is to train youth leaders from Romania, which means I travel to their context to walk with them in the process of learning small group Bible study techniques.
What do you hope to gain from participating?
I want to be exposed to training in this field and I want to follow a preaching curriculum. Preaching and teaching are essential to the life of a church and dedicating time and resources to this is crucial. The moment I stop studying must be the moment I must stop teaching. I hope to develop quality relationships with trained leaders and to read good books that lead to great discussions. I also expect to learn how to find the best form for preaching to rising generations. We know that the truth stays the same, but its forms must be adapted to the society in which we live.
What is your leadership role?
I am part of the team that leads Biserica Emanuel Church Galati as one of the pastors. My role in this team is to pastor the music team and youth leaders, and to do city outreach ministry. A significant aspect of this ministry is to preach and teach for our church on Sundays, Wednesdays, and on other occasions. I also lead a Christian organization called Proveritas (“for truth”), which creates bridges between Christian communities and society. In addition to an afterschool club, we have programs for teenagers that bring the Gospel to them in several ways. Lastly, I work with Josiah Venture Romania, guiding key leaders in outreach through music, sports, camps, and schools.
Why should someone invest in your ministry?
I want to develop better skills in delivering messages from the Bible in a clear and relevant manner.
