What is your ministry?
Teaching and preaching the Bible are a big part of my ministry. I have ministered in preaching and teaching for over 30 years. I started ministering without any special education. I had an artist’s education and that was my first profession. This was the end of the Soviet period and then Lithuania regained its independence. I learned to preach by listening to sermons and reading books. It was a long journey of part-time learning and constant practice. Now I preach and teach in Kaunas Evangelical Church, in other churches of the Lithuanian Evangelical Church Fellowship, and sometimes in churches of other denominations.
What do you hope to gain from participating?
First, I want to learn to present Jesus more clearly. I want to learn to better communicate the truths of Scripture. I want to learn to preach in a more understandable and more interesting way. At the beginning of my path of faith, I had an experience — a vision that I was a hole through which light shines. I want that vision to be fulfilled as much as possible so that it is not me but the light of Christ that shines. I hope to gain more diverse experience, to get closer to the experience of mentors, and to listen to their advice. Although I am already older, I hope it is not too late to continue learning and improving.
What is your leadership role?
In 1988, I became a part of the emerging “Word of Faith” Church and together with other members of the community preached the Gospel in the streets of Vilnius and at community meetings. From the autumn of 1989, I headed the Vilnius Bible School of the Word of Faith, which was established in that year. In 1990, I became the second pastor of the Word of Faith Church in Vilnius. In 2000, I became the pastor of Kaunas Church “Word of Faith” and moved to Kaunas. Since 2013 I have been the head of the Lithuanian Evangelical Churches Fellowship (formerly the Word of Faith Community).
Why should someone invest in your ministry?
I want to improve in all areas of preaching and teaching.
