What is your ministry?
I am a Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Grigore T. Popa” of Iasi, Romania. Since 2016, I am also Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy. I teach and research in the field of Pharmaceutical Chemistry. My research is focused on the development of new pharmaceutical drugs and systems. Together with my research groups (made up of PhD students and researchers), we work in two main domains: 1) Design and physio-chemical characterization and biological evaluation (antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-diabetes effects) of new heterocycle derivatives; and 2) improving the pharmacological and pharmacokinetic profile of the biological active compounds and drugs using biopolymers as delivery systems.
What do you hope to gain from participating?
The Year-Round Mentoring Group for Scientists will be a great opportunity for me to gain knowledge about Christianity from a scientific perspective. I have participated in the Forum’s Scientific Network and would like to further my development with a community of believers who are both Christians and scientists.
What is your leadership role?
I am a professor and university dean. I am member of Romanian Christian Physicians Association and am part of different activities organized by association.
Why should someone invest in your ministry?
In the future, I want to be more involved in the activities organized by the Romanian Christian Physicians Association and I plan to invite national and international Christian scientific leaders to talk about the relationship between science and Christianity.
