What is your ministry?
I am the pastor of a small city Brethren (Free Evangelical) church in East Slovakia. This is my third pastoral placement, so I am just starting out, having come here in December of 2020. The church consists of people of all generations. There are quite a lot of single adults, so we do not have many children. The church went through a crisis of leadership prior to my arrival, as the pastor and elders did not understand one another. There is a new group of elders who are quite young – all of them are in their 30s. The church needs to experience deep forgiveness, acceptance, and a fresh start.
What do you hope to gain from participating?
I need to have people in my life who can speak honestly and hold me accountable. I hope that the Year-Round Mentoring can be a place for this. Sometimes this kind of networking can be a valuable source of refreshment and community. I am willing to listen to others and through this listening, I hope to understand what the Lord wants me to do. I also see some challenges and weaknesses in my character, temperament, and behavior; I hope that this fellowship will cast a light on my life.
What is your leadership role?
I am a pastor in East Slovakia.
Why should someone invest in your ministry?
My task is to build bridges among members of church because of some divisions that took place in recent years. This division was not caused by differences in theology, but by different views of how the church should be organized and led. I need to be sincere and truthful when talking with people, as we need to clarify what we need to put to order. Another task is to help the young elders to become good leaders. I am also trying to prepare some men for preaching ministry.
