What is your ministry?
I work with Activate Mission Trust. We make, multiply, and mobilize disciples for global mission. My ministry is to mobilize, equip, and disciple young people in fulfilling their God-given mandate. I am passionate about making disciples and not merely converts. Seeing holistic transformation in the lives of people gives me fulfillment. I am passionate about discipleship and social transformation, whereby discipleship results in changing the culture and civilization to reflect the Kingdom of God. My ministry focus is mobilizing, training, and equipping people to be obedient followers of Jesus Christ.
What do you hope to gain from participating?
I hope to learn from other women about their experiences in discipleship because as it is I am not aware of any woman in my context actively involved in discipleship. I hope I will be able to pass on the skills I gain to younger women with whom I work. In Kenya most of the people who come for the trainings we offer are women and I see that as a huge potential for raising disciple makers. I would love to see more women engaged in making disciples.
What is your leadership role?
I facilitate the training offered by Activate Mission Trust. I also conduct needs assessments of what might be beneficial to the staff to grow their capacity for fulfilling their own vision as they find their own unique expression within the organization. I am involved in discipling small groups and overseeing the training and formation of teams from the different discipleship groups that are formed in the three major areas where we work (that is amongst the unreached, university students, and in urban places). I oversee the online mobilization of participants for our online six-week mission mentoring program called READY-2-RUN and a disciple-making program called LEAD that is tailor-made to raise disciple-makers.
